Ultimate Packing guide: Tropical North Queensland

Woohoo! You’ve planned a trip to Tropical North Queensland and are now looking at what to pack in your suitcase.

We have put together a printable checklist that can help guide you when preparing for your unforgettable holiday.

Visiting Cairns, Port Douglas, Cape Tribulation & The Daintree Rainforest

Probably one of the most stunning parts of Queensland if you ask me! We spent a week exploring Cairns, Port Douglas and the Daintree and were not disappointed. To take a look at some of our recommendations, keep an eye on our Queensland page!

If there is one thing you take from this packing list, it is to remember to pack or buy mosquito repellent. Honestly, you have less chance of being stung by an Irukandji jellyfish than being eaten alive by mozzies. They are the worst. We have been back for nearly a week from our trip and I am still scratching at my mozzie bites – and we wore tropical strength repellent each day!

So you may be asking, what’s the point if you get attacked anyway? Well, turns out there were a mozzie or two in our hotel room at night and we turned out to be pretty good meals for the little guys. So our tip – wear it 24/7!!

“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” – Bill Bryson
