Room: Superior Ocean View Room

Perfect for: Couples & Small Family

We love the Sofitel Broadbeach. We’ve stayed here every year for the past few years, sometimes 2 or 3 times in the year! There is something special about this hotel for us and our little family.

The location is what we love about the hotel. Broadbeach is beautiful, plenty of restaurant options should you wish to dine out and a very short walk to the beach.

We are Platinum Accor Plus members which come in handy as we typically receive complimentary early check-in and/or check-out when we need it. This has been an absolute lifesaver with Master Henry.

Our welcome experience…

The staff at the welcome desk are so friendly and very helpful. Our check-ins have always been a pleasure. The concierge has also been helpful and quick at dropping our luggage in the room, which I really do appreciate.

The Room…

On this particular occasion, we stayed in a Superior Ocean View room. We included footage from some of our other stays in the video above, including the Prestige Suite if you wanted to see a comparison. Irrespective of the room you decide on, the ocean views are spectacular and never gets old, no matter how many times you stay here!

The room consists of everything you would need for your stay, including the incredibly comfortable King Size bed. The room easily fits the portable cot with plenty of space to walk around.

The bathroom is well equipped and has a bath should you wish to relax or for your small human to have a play in.

The view… like I said, it never gets old.

Meals…

Bistro on 3: The main restaurant on level 3 is where the buffet breakfast is served. It is also open for lunch and dinner. The food is always fresh and great portion sizes too and what’s even better is we get our food for half price with our Accor Plus membership!

Room 81: Located on the ground floor, you will find Room 81. We each ordered the steak and used our Accor Plus dining discount which gave us 50% off the food. The steak, full price was $75. I can’t say I would happily pay $75 for the meal, but at half price, it is certainly reasonable!

The staff even brought over a book for Henry to read to keep entertained! It worked for a little while!

Hotel Grounds

Located on level 3, you will find two pools and a jacuzzi! The upper pool is not heated, but the lower pool is.

In our recent trip at the start of November, Henry found the upper pool a bit too cold but the heated pool on the lower deck was a much nicer temperature. However, we did personally find it a bit deep for being able to swim with Henry whilst ensuring his safety. In saying that, the pool does have a step along the side so you can easily sit on the side step and enjoy that space with your baby.

Our most recent trip in December, the water was much warmer, and enjoyable to swim in, Henry loved it. We have also had a happy little duck family join us on one of our trips, the baby ducklings seemed to love the pool as well!

Health and Fitness…

For those who like to stay active on holidays, there is a fully equipped gym located on the grounds.

Good to know…

Paid parking is available at the hotel, should you require this facility.

The hotel is located directly above Oasis shopping centre, which includes a Woolworths supermarket. This is perfect especially if you have a baby or toddler. I was able to duck down after arriving and pick up some snacks for Henry, including some yoghurt to put into the fridge in the room.

The beach is a short stroll away from the hotel and from our experience, the surf conditions have been quite good. Henry absolutely loves dipping his toes in the water or making a mess whilst attempting to build some sandcastles.

Australian beaches are patrolled, not only by the Lifeguards, but you’re also likely to be met by a Police officer, so it is important to mention that drinking alcohol and smoking is not allowed on our pristine beaches. Luckily Henry didn’t mind the police officer stopping by!

Checking out…

Quick and easy, as always! Special mention to the concierge, who again arrived promptly and was very helpful with loading all of Henry’s toys, beach cart and bags for us.

Above and beyond…

It’s so great to arrive and have the portable cot set up in the room at check-in!

The not so good…

Nothing to report here.

The verdict…

It’s obvious, isn’t it? We love it here and continue to come back here. Highly recommend.
