Visiting Port Douglas

Located on the Coral Sea in Tropical North Queensland is the beautiful town of Port Douglas. Known for its beautiful beach resorts and being a base connecting you to the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree National Park.

What to see in Port Douglas

Macrossan Street

If you’re looking for boutique shops and lovely restaurant and cafes, then head to Macrossan Street.

Four Mile Beach

Port Douglas is famous for Four Mile Beach. It was a really hot day so we decided to head to the lookout and look at this beautiful beach from above! Especially given you can’t swim in the ocean, particularly in the summertime because of the stingers.

Hemingway’s Brewery

We stopped in at Hemingway’s Brewery and it was a lovely way to relax after a day of exploring The Daintree! The brewery is a Gastro Pub son the marina in Port Douglas. It was the first of its kind up in FNQ and you can pick from a range of handcrafted beers!

Packing for Tropical North Queensland

You definitely need to be prepared for your trip to FNQ (Far North Queensland). There are a few essentials in my mind, one of which is, of course, mosquito repellent!
